I've used the original (Japanese) names here in my letter, but I wouldn't mind receiving a work with the localised names from the 90's dub either. Feel free to include background ships and any character(s) from the full cast. I'd also prefer that the Shitennou keep their original names instead of having them replaced by civilian names, in the event of them taking up civilian identities. Of course, go ahead and gloss over outsiders' terms of address towards them if that's easiest.

Note: I'm familiar with the manga and original 90s anime. I have yet to catch up on the entirety of Crystal, nor have I consumed all of the musicals, but feel free to reference events therein.

Nehelenia's arc is really such prime prisoner material! Not only is Nehelenia herself a prisoner of her mirror, she loves to take men prisoner of her own <3

I'd love to see what she gets up to once she gets her claws into Helios — and later, Mamoru! Does she sic any of her youma on him / them? What about other methods of torture and/or brainwashing? I wonder if Nehelenia ever goes the seduction (or attempts to impress) route with Mamoru (or Helios, as his proxy), in order to vie for control over the Golden Crystal.

Mamoru, Helios and the Dream Arc: I love the fact that Mamoru suffers with the Earth, and I bet Elysion's damage causes strain on him too. Does Helios visit his dreams too, during that time? I'm eager to see more interactions between them around that timeframe, with a side of Helios's suffering at the hands of Nehelenia. Maybe at some point, Helios takes Mamoru to Elysion in order to rest and heal?

This series has forever changed my world and has been driving me insane for the past TWO years now. There are priceless dynamics between everybody, literally! Captor Genshin / Captor Barok / Prisoner Klint

This might possibly consist of a canon divergence from the Professor case, or rather, a "special" kind of foreplay scenario. Ideally, I'd like for Klint to submit to the captivity of his own free will, though keeping his consent ambiguous could also be interesting. Unless, he prefers to die as a form of repentance; in which case I'd love to see him reluctantly kept alive.

I enjoy seeing these three all in love with one another (as opposed to a love triangle situation). In terms of top/bottom dynamics: I generally have a very minor preference for top > bottom Klint, but I would be 100% on board with bottom prisoner Klint needing to repent for his sins...

Klint lives, and ends up a captive / slave of his lover(s) as punishment or out of repentance for the murders. Was this arrangement a compromise, a condition for saving his life, a result of a series of misguided choices, or a huge misunderstanding? Perhaps Klint is the one who sees himself as a some sort of slave, reduced to being a bedwarmer and judicial/investigative assistant. I'd love to see Genshin and Barok's attitude towards the situation explored as well - wouldn't it be great if they were both against this arrangement, and were only reluctantly playing on to satisfy Klint's whims... (depending on the scenario, of course). If not, are they protecting him from the outside world?

On a lighter note: Maybe this takes place much before the Professor incident, and is a culmination of these nobles'...special tastes. Or, Klint must be kept safe from his enemies. If you're interested in playing with the timeline, I'd be happy to see this happen at any point in their lives, including in the current-day canon if you'd like to write a canon divergence AU.

The usual attacks on the van Zieks lead to an abduction. Maybe Genshin is taken with them, or maybe he tries to rescue them (and possibly he is captured too). Given the scenario, I'm fine with any top or bottom dynamics. My usual love is top!Klint/bottom!Barok, if they get the opportunity to choose. If Genshin is involved, I can see him going either way depending on whether he wants to bear the pain himself, or ensure the process is as painless as possible. Of course, if the situation calls for it I'm happy to see Klint receive, or Barok being forced to top.

I love the flavour of "bad guys think they made them do it but really enabled them". I'd also be interested in a darker take, where Klint, Barok and Genshin are torn up about having it happen "like this".

What happens when Genshin and Barok meet, post Genshin's arrest and (faked) confession? Barok, coming to look for answers or closure, driven by anger and grief, perhaps trying to save Genshin. Genshin, lying through his teeth in order to keep Barok in the dark for just that much longer.

I usually tend to imagine top!Genshin in this relationship, but given the context of the Professor case, I could see this going the other way with Barok's mood. I do adore bottom!Barok dynamics and tropes though!

I'm really into scenarios where Genshin receives visits at Barclay Prison. (See above for) Barok, coming to look for answers or closure, driven by anger and grief, perhaps trying to save Genshin. Jigoku and/or Mikotoba, doing the same. Trying to fight for Genshin's defence, despairing after he pleads guilty. I'd even like to see Genshin alone in his cell. His daily routine, his final days. Thinking of Kazuma, of Klint, of Barok. Maybe Klint comes to visit - as a ghost, or a figment of his imagination. An exploration of his psyche during those terrible days. If you're interested in including other visitors, I'm insanely interested in all the cast members from 10-16 years ago in London. What if Klint survived the Professor incident after all, and is subsequently held in captivity by Stronghart who intends to keep him permanently? Whether he truly attempts to die, or the duel never happened and it was all a set-up by Stronghart is up to you.

Perhaps part of the deal Genshin strikes with Stronghart during their negotiations after his arrest is to either have Klint freed in exchange for Genshin's life/freedom (which Stronghart reneges on), or to save Genshin from an execution, instead bringing him into captivity with Klint...! { No top/bottom preference, though I'd love for Genshin to have prior experience with m/m sex. You decide if this is an established relationship scenario, or if they only get together once they're in long-term captivity. }

When it comes to rescuer!Holmes: the Great Detective uncovers Stronghart's deception and makes to save the former Lord van Zieks. Again, go wild with the setup and the rescue itself. I'm equally interested in the lead-up, the rescue itself, and the aftermath, so feel free to focus on whichever you desire.

In general, I am super fond of canon divergence — especially when it comes to having canonically dead characters survive (*cough* Sirius *cough* Remus) or changing a certain character's upbringing — but don't feel forced to branch off too far from the novel canon if that's not your thing!

I have a slight preference for the novel depictions (ie. Sirius being taller than Remus & Harry both, Padfoot being around the same size as Moony) as well as Sirius topping Remus should you be inclined to include some penetrative sex, but this is by no means set in stone! So feel free to go with their movie visuals, or play around with the sexual dynamics.

General Relationship thoughts

I want to see Harry getting all the love and guidance from his godfather + his father's dear friend/his godfather's partner. I imagine Remus was originally meant to be connected to Harry through his relationship with Sirius, but I also like the idea of Harry clinging onto him after having bonded deeply with Remus during POA.

On the Harry and Remus relationship: I am absolutely hooked on all the glimpses we get of the two of them interacting, especially during POA. How Harry comes to trust him deeply and worry about him constantly always gets me going. In AUs where they meet again during Harry's childhood, I always enjoy when Harry comes to see him as a parental figure, and seeing Remus devoting himself entirely to Harry.

In terms of Remus/Sirius, I'm happy to see them either in an established relationship, or getting together/mutually pining at some point in the fic. Their banter is fun, and I do enjoy seeing them lean on one another to help process their shared trauma. When it comes to their relationship being affected by 'The Prank' and 'the spy', I usually tend to enjoy more lenient portrayals of the circumstances. For instance, using misunderstandings and miscommunications to obfuscate the situation as opposed to outright betrayals or suspicions of the other.

Time to visit Sirius in Azkaban, or worse, at Grimmauld Place! What a poor guy.
I'm very obsessed with reinterpretations of Harry's first meeting with Sirius.

Pre-canon: does Harry know about magic yet? How does he react to finding out that he has a godfather?
Pre Prisoner of Azkaban AU: What if Harry is notified of Sirius's existence before POA (or alternatively: Sirius doesn't escape and Harry's third year plays out differently)? I'd love to see Harry meet Sirius in different circumstances. Bonus points if Remus is involved somehow, whether Sirius sends Harry to him, Remus is the one to introduce them, or Harry somehow meets his father's other friend — maybe at school, maybe somewhere else.
Post Prisoner of Azkaban: Harry meets Sirius later than expected. Or, Grimmauld Place is Sirius's new prison...and Harry comes by for a while, because he can't take Hogwarts anymore due to Umbridge.

When it comes to ❤︎ Remus: Perhaps Remus confronts Sirius in Azkaban, or drops by to see him after Sirius is caught during his year as the DADA Prof. Post POA, Remus definitely drops in on Grimmauld Place to check on Sirius.

Missing scenes are also cool. I'm particularly interested in AUs/canon divergences where Sirius's innocence is proven differently. If you're up for it, I'd love to see Sirius and Remus acting as Harry's surrogate parents.

If none of the above interests you, feel free to play around wth canon and come up with another way to have Sirius captured! I'm partial to Marauder-era (AUs) if that's your thing.

This letter contains spoilers for the novel, Murtagh, released last fall.

I'd love to see some canon divergence! What if Thorn's egg was recovered from Galbatorix's treasury? Or, what if Oromis and Glaedr managed to free Murtagh as he'd hoped for during their brief conversation during Brisingr? Maybe Eragon is able to liberate Murtagh from his tormentors this time around, whether that be Galbatorix or Bachel...

Speaking of Bachel, I am convinced that some serious torture went down, beyond what was actually written out on the page...

I'm curious about the mind-games Galbatorix must've played, pitting Murtagh against Nasuada, Eragon, even Thorn and who knows who else.

I'd equally enjoy some busting-Eragon-out-of-confinement — does it take place back when he's still a young, inexperienced rider? Or, is Brom somehow, miraculously alive / Murtagh free of his oaths and able to come for his younger brother? How angry is Saphira once she is finally reunited with her beloved little one?

Thoughts on 'brothers'

Again with the brothers... I need more of these brothers! 😭 I'm still fuming about not getting any direct Murtagh/Eragon interaction in the latest book, though every mention of their time together in the Hadarac desert, and Murtagh's not subtle longing to be on good, close terms with his half-brother drove me up the wall! I hate that they were driven apart by Galbatorix (though it was necessary, for Thorn's hatching), and even more than that, I hate that Murtagh fled without getting any prime attention from Eragon after Galbatorix's defeat. I'm so desperate to see more of them, even if it's fighting (whether that be with their swords or with their words).

I am a big fan of tragic brothers :D By accident of birth, these two led such different lives, and there is SO much potential both for AUs and for development post canon.

I like it when Eragon and Murtagh actually have 'good' times together — for instance, when they were journeying to / at the Varden during Eragon (because that's as good as it got, sadly). Short of that, they had a Talk (at least) before Murtagh fled at the end of Inheritance... please, may we have some more of that eventually...? T-T Because they are doomed to be separated, apparently (side-eyeing canon), we get a surprising amount of quality moments where Eragon and Murtagh are thinking about one another: Eragon, pondering Murtagh's plight and how to free him is always heartwarming <3 And I can't help but laugh every time Murtagh's mind drifts to his brother during the latest book. Just go to him already, would you!? Those simpler days, back from before you were captured, are within his reach — don't you think Murtagh and Thorn would be happier raising dragons?? I swear...

Eragon's empathy is certainly one of his assets, and I enjoy seeing it extend to Murtagh. He's certainly matured over the course of the series, and I think his compassion would do Murtagh a lot of good in his recovery!

On the other hand, while Murtagh and Thorn may make for a great pair, they aren't enough to keep each other safe and not lonely. Every time I remember Murtagh proclaiming Eragon as his brother on the Burning Plains — and subsequently, how hurt he was in the throne room to hear that they only share one parent — it makes me think about how desperate Murtagh is for real human connection; not only that, but the unconditional love that is family, and dragons, too (I expect), are supposed to promise. Please let him have it already, Mr. Paolini!!

Frankly, I just wanna see these two having some good times for once... or healing together, processing the nightmare of the past few years of loss and destruction while leaning on the one person who knows what it's like. Let them spend actual quality time together, dammit!! >.<

If you're content with canon divergence, I beg you to please save Murtagh and give him a better chance at life! I'll never say no to 'brotherly' hurt/comfort, and it would be great for Eragon to be able to rely on his big brother for once (instead of forging ahead blindly with a young dragon).

I'd love for Murtagh and Eragon to build a familial relationship – whether that necessitates canon divergence, off-screen moments, or something set post-canon. Go wild with (mutual?) intense protectiveness while they're trying to save the other from certain doom, or worrying themselves into a rut until their dragons have to nudge them out of it. These two always manage to find themselves in terribly risky situations... so I want Eragon to burst down the door and save both Murtagh and Thorn for once! Let Murtagh ask Eragon for help! Even better, let them have an ugly fight (or two, or three) about their respective upbringings and bring all of their resentment out into the open.

Whether you write this as a romantic dragonrider duo, siblings using each other as an outlet for sexual urges or an intensely emotional but platonic brotherly bond, I'm fine with all of it — I just need more of this pair!

Even after all this time, I can't help but be drawn to angsty Murtagh and his dogged desperation for freedom, no matter the cost. It was heartbreaking to see him newly deprived of it by the Dreamers, though it did give us a great opportunity to see how protective he is over Thorn (and I love it). I still wish Eragon could have swooped in and saved him sooner, but alas, that's not how canon works, is it ;__;

If not about current events (post-canon AUs, rescuing Murtagh from Bachel and the Dreamers), I'd be equally happy to take another look at Murtagh's captivity under the Varden; or, a rescue of Murtagh from underneath Galbatorix's thumb. Heck, go wild and re-invent the Tornac escape if you will!

Murtagh & Thorn

Thorn has been a prisoner for a good chunk of his existence, and with him, Murtagh inevitably follows. There's so much to say about that, I don't even know where to start! How has it shaped (and curbed) his development, aside from the crippling claustrophobia? Were Thorn to have been rescued during his time in the egg (unhatched), how might he have changed? (And I hate to ask it, but would he still have hatched for Murtagh...)

I'm definitely interested in Thorn's (and through him, Murtagh's) relationships with his would-be rescuers, Brom, Oromis and Glaedr. It would be so cool to see a world in which Murtagh is rescued and studies in Ellesméra along with Thorn, or is re-captured (and consequently freed from Galbatorix?) during the seige of Gil'ead, and thus held under Oromis / Glaedr's licence.

I’ve gotten very hooked on solving these daily puzzles, all because of this crazy entertaining detective/inspector pair. I love the contrast between Logico’s and Irratino’s approaches. Every Sunday date night brings me such joy! I’ve been playing on-and-off since last May, and would appreciate any references to puzzles I may have missed.

I have a slight preference for a more practical take as opposed to a magical/fantastical one (say, where Irratino is actually dying every Sunday). Of course, feel free to play up the occult-ish, unexplainable canonical elements - such as locations (ex: the Old Ruins), and so on.

If you’re looking for more material from outside canons, I love mystery series (ex: Detective Conan, the complete Ace Attorney series, Hardy Boys & Nancy Drew, Sherlock Holmes, etc.), so feel free to draw upon those worlds/ conventions or even create a crossover if that’s helpful! No pressure to go for casefic, though!

General pairing thoughts (click to expand)

I’m very much into dynamics involving detectives and their partners (Holmes / Watson style or otherwise). I also dig ships with a lot of pining and cluelessness on at least one side. The juxtaposition of “logic” vs “occult” is very fun, and produces some great arguments over which one is best. Despite their disagreements, they still enjoy each other’s company (whether platonic or otherwise)! <3

I live for Sundays nowadays when we get date night! Pasta dinners, math lectures and bar visits are very much them. I also look forward to Logico’s surprise and anger over Irratino’s death (which he’s so distraught about, he can’t even clue in that it’s fake…). Otherwise, I enjoy the concept of Irratino’s occultish hints and the fact that Logico needs them in the first place :D Also, Irratino’s smugness if you make the wrong accusation is hilarious.

I enjoy Logico’s ‘logical’ personality, and how it often falls apart when it comes to Irratino. Especially his distress at the weekly deaths, and how he’ll support Irratino’s occult endeavours despite not believing in it himself. He might describe Irratino as “his old rival, antagonist and friend” but his affection certainly runs much deeper… as evidenced by the fact that he notes down astrological signs on his note cards despite not being a believer. I find it funny how he encounters deaths everywhere he goes – he’s like the classic shingami character.

I’m intrigued by Irratino’s choices in faking his death weekly to get Logico’s attention. He’s coming on to Logico so strongly! Why won't Logico notice him?! I love the image of his long hair and slight stature – I wonder if he ties it back regularly?

For these two, I‘d love to see an exploration of their backstory: how they met and fell for one another, how the "dates" started, what led to Irratino’s death faking, etc. I’m also very interested in their respective headspaces, particularly when it comes to logic/occult and their feelings. It would be hilarious to see the reactions of their coworkers, the daily criminals (“murdlers”), and other bystanders to their unique dynamic & ridiculous flirting. I’m convinced they must be close enough to go on holiday together, because how else would Irratino be around to provide his hints all the time?!

If you'd like to go the sexy (!) route, for this exchange, I would love to see top/dom/alpha (etc.) Logico, and bottom/sub/omega/pregnant (etc.) Irratino <3 I am a HUGE fan of mutual non-con, and I think seeing these two forced into having sex for an audience would probably be hilarious, if you want to work that in somehow.

I would be thrilled to receive something with anything and anyone in this crazy canon, honestly. I have a huge soft spot for whumped prisoner Roberto. I love prisoner Hiraga just as much, and if you'd like to throw in some Ryouta, Bill, Elizabeth, Julia & Galdoune, Fiona, Hiraga Jin, Lauren, Singh or absolutely anyone from this insane cast of characters, I'd be so happy!

I love this wacky cast of crazy sweethearts from the bottom of my heart. I enjoy reading about them in all settings — from solving crazy mysteries to (rare) quiet, domestic settings. Of course, feel free to throw in some canon-typical horror/violence/insanity :D I wouldn’t mind some darker fic (along the lines of non-con, injury, death) or some emotional breakdowns and tears. If offscreen, I can deal with canon-typical levels of (body) horror. On the other end, I also love domestic fluff for the whole Hiraga (+ Roberto) family! Hurt/comfort is very suitable to this canon, as is any degree of angst. I also enjoy AUs, whether they be canon divergence only or things like Soulmate AU/Omegaverse. In other words, anything goes!

I enjoy how this series is intellectually stimulating (I'm a huge mystery fan!), while balancing out domestic fluff, existential angst, and whump. I came for the religious aesthetic, promises of early music, and the two male leads whom I thought might be ship-worthy. I stayed despite the horror tag because of the promise of something more to Hiraga & Roberto’s relationship, even if it turned into a decade-long slow burn. Roberto’s arc (the Sofuma trip) is probably my most favourite arc ever, and I knew from the moment it wrapped up that this fandom would become a lifelong obsession. Aside from the two protagonists, my next-favourite character is Hiraga Jin (Hiraga’s father).

P.S.: I’m both an anime watcher and a novel reader, so any canon/characters are fine by me! I’ve read most of the novels, and so I would be delighted to see anyone from the extensive cast.

P.P.S.: Some prisoner Roberto thoughts — He suffers so beautifully. I love angsty Roberto whump, hence all the prisoner!Roberto nominations. For sexy Roberto situations, I have a profound bottom!Roberto fixation after all these years :D

Hiraga / Roberto

General pairing thoughts (click to expand)

I adore how the Hiraga - Roberto pair interacts, how codependent their dynamic is and how much they care for one another. Pining and miscommunication is par for the course with them, despite being literal super geniuses. I’m very into the contrast between the two: Hiraga’s innocence and naivety versus Roberto’s maturity and jadedness, the size difference and contrasting specialties, their colour schemes, and more. Go wild with anything - crazy cases, danger at the Vatican, relaxing days off, breaking vows…

I love how Roberto is such a mess (said with affection). He’s book smart and super capable all around - a true Renaissance man - but he somehow turns into an absolute idiot when it comes to his own safety and just everything Hiraga. He might as well walk around wearing a giant sign saying “Hiraga is my biggest weakness. I would break my vows and die for him” in flashing neon lights (though he wouldn’t because what a terrible aesthetic that would be). Hiraga would also not survive without him, since he basically runs Hiraga’s domestic life. I enjoy how he cooks as stress relief and relentlessly chases after knowledge. I’m smitten with his self-destructiveness and self-hatred. Roberto whump scenes will never not be my favourite.

Hiraga is also a genius mess, without the same deep self-hatred. It’s inspiring to me how he always thinks the best of people and has love for quite literally everything. His faith is beautiful, and his admission that he would cast it aside if Ryouta died is also very telling. I suspect he is somewhere on the spectrum, as many geniuses are. Watching him hyperfixate and constantly fail to read the mood is always fun (sorry, Hiraga). Though his character has developed from how he was described in the first book, I’ll always be attached to the portrayal of him as constantly anxious and worrying about doing mundane things correctly. While being an absolute domestic mess, he would do anything for Roberto. His multiple attempts at proposals (matching brain scans, renovating his house for Roberto, searching for new recipes to try) are hilarious and make me feel a little bad for him sometimes. I adore how clueless and protective he is at times. If he ever lost Roberto, I’m certain he would fall deep into a dark pit of despair…

In terms of their ship dynamics, I'm fond of seeing their canon-typical interactions taken to the next level. Having Roberto in a caretaker/service sub-type role is always fun, and so are Hiraga's clumsy attempts to do something nice for Roberto (especially when Roberto is healed by his mere presence)! I enjoy explorations of tension wherein they're hovering on the verge of something deeper, and would absolutely love to see them break their vows outright and go for it. Also, the aftermath of said happenings is incredibly juicy, no matter where you take it!

My favourite canonical shippy moments include: the mouth-to-mouth when Hiraga feeds an unconscious Roberto water; The Suckening Scene & Roberto’s awakening; “I’ve come to love you more and more!”; anytime Roberto saves Hiraga, particularly when he’s using his body like a meat shield; when Roberto tells Hiraga that “you’re my life’s treasure”; Roberto’s many Hiraga hallucinations; Hiraga falling apart when Roberto gets kidnapped and crying; casually giving Hiraga a piggyback or carrying him on his shoulders COMPLETELY NATURALLY IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE; every single cooking scene and exchange of casual touches… There are too many to list them all!

If you’re up for writing penetrative sex (for these Catholic priests, I know), I lean heavily towards preferring bottom!Roberto, but have no objections about switching/reversible if that floats your boat! I have a slight obsession with seeing Roberto cry during intimacy. I’m also very into the ‘super-handsome-intelligent-attractive-brilliant-Roberto-is-a-virgin-gasp!-no-way’ thing. For this exchange, I'd prefer for them to be each other's firsts, without any prior romantic or consensual sexual experience. Having past non-con is totally fine, however (e.g. abuse by clergy members in childhood).

I'd be happy with anything from flustered adorable first-times & get-together sex (post-imprisonmen) to they-don't-communicate-ever crazy guilty sex! I am a HUGE fan of mutual non-con and would absolutely adore something or someone made them do it.

Having Roberto entrapped with prisoner!Hiraga is a treat no matter the variation or scenario. If Captor!Julia is thrown into the mix of imprisoned RobeHira, Galdoune gets involved and captures them for plotty, petty reasons! I love the idea of Julia tricking them into breaking their vows for his entertainment.

Of course, sometimes Roberto refuses to communicate and jumps into danger by himself. Rescuer!Hiraga is furious with him and gives Roberto a much-deserved scolding after enacting a daring rescue! (And of course, fusses over his injuries afterwards.) Perhaps Hiraga gets caught while trying to get him out, and they have to find a way to escape together, as always...

I'd also love to see an OC captor (or many). Like Roberto's abduction during their trip to Japan! Roberto gets mouthy and unravels the entire mystery in front of them like the genius (and idiot) he is.

If you're up for writing Hiraga's father, Jin, I'm dying to see him and Roberto suffering in captivity together. What a way to mess with Hiraga's psyche, by abducting his two important people T.T

Rescuer!Bill is always fun — he cares for our lovely priests so much that he'd be all cylinders raring to go to rescue Roberto. It'd also be hilarious to see him fail in action and accidentally find himself captured too by mistake.

For all of the above pairings: Though I've requested them as "&" relationships (to me, meaning platonic, i.e. not romantic), I'd be more than happy to see some risqué or sexual content for any of these ships should the tag call for it :D
